Frontier Rodeo Company wins sixth consecutive

PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year Award

Monday, December 14, 2020

Frontier Rodeo Company has been awarded the prestigious Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Stock Contractor of the Year award at the PRCA Awards Banquet in Arlington, TX ahead of the 2020 PRCA National Finals Rodeo. This is the sixth consecutive year that Frontier Rodeo Company owner Jerry Nelson has taken this award, making Frontier Rodeo Company one of the most successful stock contractors in the history of the PRCA.

The Stock Contractor of the Year award is given by the PRCA to a stock contracting firm of the highest caliber and has proven this in rodeo production, livestock, and the rodeo company's professionalism. The PRCA membership votes on the award.

Nelson was humbled and heaped praise on those around him when asked about the achievement. "We started Frontier Rodeo on our own from the ground-up. I give all the credit to my wife Beverly and children. And Frontier wouldn't be what it is today without our Rodeo Manager, Heath Stewart. Heath is the engine that runs Frontier Rodeo Company. Frontier has a full staff in Freedom, Oklahoma, and it takes every one of them to make all of this possible."2020 has been a crazy year, and we're grateful for the support and enthusiasm of the entire rodeo community – from the rodeo committees and our sponsors to the contestants and the fans," Nelson said.

Frontier Rodeo Company has consistently produced top-ranking stock since 2005 and has been nominated PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year since 2012.

It's only fitting that Frontier's Medicine Woman, arguably the greatest saddle bronc of all time, will be competing for the last time at the 2020 NFR. Medicine Woman has been the gold standard of saddle broncs since 2010, taking some cowboys on 92 point rides.

"Medicine Woman won the bucking horse of the year for four years and most recently was the 2020 Reserve Saddle Bronc of the Year. There might not be another bucking horse like Medicine Woman, and she's earned her retirement." Nelson said. "I'm proud of the fact that Frontier has, for the past five years, taken more livestock to the National Finals Rodeo than any contractor has."

This year, Frontier Rodeo had 17 head of livestock selected to take to the 2020 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Arlington.

The National Finals Rodeo is scheduled for December 3-12, 2020, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX. The Cowboy Channel and RFD-TV will carry all ten performances of the NFR live. Fans can stream the NFR via the Cowboy Channel + streaming pass subscription.
